How to Live Sustainably

(0)
‘How to Live Sustainably’ aims to support students in Years 3-6 (7-11 years old) to live more sustainably. It encourages them to think positively but critically about their choices and how they can be more sustainable both at home and at school and leave the world a better place for future generations! The lesson teaches easy and simple ways to save energy, water and food and to reuse and recycle consumer items they use every day. It introduces key concepts around sustainability, biodiversity and carbon. The lesson is centered around two main tasks: A quiz that enables the children to measure how sustainable they are, in competiton with their peers. A drawing task and sustainability action plan that encourages the children to think about sustainable changes they can make and express their artistic talents! The lesson is designed to be fun and touches a broad curriculum, including Maths, Geography, Art and Citizenship. We have included the PowerPoint presentation and downloadable templates for the Sustainability Action Plan. We hope you enjoy the lesson! This lesson pack is part of a series of free sustainability resources produced by BNP Paribas UK, Gemserv and Teach First through the Leaders for a Changing World partnership. You can access the other resources in the series below: Renewable Energy and Electricity: Powering a Net Zero Future (GCSE Physics) Sustainable Financing for a Net Zero Future (GCSE Business Studies) Sustainable Cities: Air Pollution in Urban Environments (GCSE Geography) Fuel Cells (GCSE Chemistry New Spec)
